Project 5: Mementos

For our fifth project in Art 3D, we were to make a "memento" of some sort to represent a fond memory of our past. We were allowed to use any materials, but only three for the memento. The memory I chose is based on my childhood, and growing up right down the road from Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Since I was a baby, my parents would take me to the campground. We were there almost every weekend, especially when the music festivals would be going on. We hardly ever missed a music festival. My memento is a representation of the fun times I always had out there; camping, listening to the music, and looking at all the beautiful art and clothing that the vendor were selling. The different, colorful beads representing all the bright colors that could be seen. The peace sign, showing all the kinds of people that would come to the events, and yet everyone got along so well. I also love that my memento kind of took on the look of a dream catcher as well. Dream catchers are reoccurring in my life, and truly mean a lot to me.
